SPEAKING THIS WEEKEND AT THE DETROIT WINDSOR INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL!
If you live in the midwest, are an aspiring artist, filmmaker, or just love checking out local talent and film, then you'll want to make your way to the 2009 Detroit Windsor International Film Festival. The events run this Friday, June 26th, through Saturday the 27th. Plenty of incredible films will be screened, as well as cool workshops, panels, presentations, and more from top professionals in the industry.
I'll will be giving such a presentation on Saturday... AND IT'S FREE! The event is from Noon to 1pm at the TechFair, which is the Walter B. Ford II Building at the College fro Creative Studies downtown. Here's the skinny:
BREAK INTO THE BIZ with artist Matt Busch
Saturday June 27, Noon - 1pm, TechFair
Detroit's own Hollywood artist Matt Busch has worked in virtually every aspect of motion picture pre, principal, and post production. As an illustrator, he has produced hundreds of posters, book covers, and products for Hollywood Properties like STAR WARS, LORD OF THE RINGS, and NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. He has also been involved with designing storyboards and character designs for movies like THE MATRIX and CON AIR. He's even directed numerous shorts for Lucasfilm and his own independent features like CONJURE and ILLUSTRATION NATION.
Join Matt Busch for an hour of fun as he covers all the tricks of the trade, not only with creating dynamic images, but how to break into the industry of comics, pop culture, and filmmaking. Matt will share some of his adventures and give unique insight to how you can make your dreams true- whether working for your favorite publisher, studio, or how to make your own ideas a force to be reckoned with. Matt will also show some videos, have giveaways and even prizes!
